Our dedicated home visitors are here to provide your assistance and encouragement.

Home-based & Center-based Services

The Early Head Start program of Tri-County Community Council, Inc. provides comprehensive, year-round child and family development services to infants, toddlers, and pregnant women in DeFuniak Springs and Holmes County. Our program focuses on school readiness, ensuring children are prepared for school, families are equipped to support their learning, and schools are ready to welcome them.

  • Weekly 90 minute home visits
  • Bi-monthly socializations
  • Educating pregnant women about prenatal care and prenatal development.
  • Educating families on the growth and developments of infants and toddlers, and to enhance parenting skills.
  • Family empowerment and family involvement in every aspect of children’s lives.
  • Battelle Development Screening and an on-going assessment using Teaching Strategies GOLD assessment tool.
  • Serving daily nutritious meals with age appropriate foods to develop healthy eating habits.
  • Individualized curriculum to help children reach their fullest potential in all developmental domains.
  • Family involvement in the education, growth, and development of children within the center and at home.
  • Partnering with parents in the implementation of curriculum, in class room participation and in other Early Head Start program activities. Battelle Developmental Screening and an on-going assessment using Teaching Strategies GOLD assessment tool.
